Closer to my dreams

I'm finally free from the semester, and it feels as though a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

This semester was challenging to say the least, but I know my skills and capabilities are now much greater. I ended with a 3.6 GPA, and I learned more about storytelling, news, communication, and marketing. I have grown such a love for digital marketing and storytelling, and  I know my skills will take me far upon graduation in May.

And speaking of graduation, I am so excited to earn my degree in the next few months. It's scary and frightening to think of post-grad life, but I know I have worked hard through these four years.

When I first entered college, I thought I wanted to be a fashion buyer and freelance writer in my free time. After one year in the fashion program, I learned it was not for me. I knew I was called to pursue a degree in media. I have been blessed to create a program that combines all of my interests in journalism, fashion, and marketing.

And now, with graduation in a few months, it's becoming real. I know that my unique and marketable skills will place me where I'm meant to be.

Until then, I'm going to continue to produce content that means something to me, and study the necessary skills I need to be successful. Success does not come by waiting, it comes by working and creating.

Yesterday, I spent the day redoing my resume and applying to internships for spring. I'm just trying to soak up as much information as possible before I start my future degree. I know the work will pay off and I'm excited to see where my future is headed.
