My Chill Weekday Routine
Hi, I'm back!
I'm sorry there was no blog post last week, I just wasn't feeling very inspired. A lot of that was due to last week's polar vortex that took over the Midwest. The negative temps really put me in kind of a chill mood the entire week. All I wanted to do was curl up in my room, watch Netflix and order Pizza.
But, I'm in the zone this week. I'm ready to work and check things off my list again. But definitely going to try to ease back into the #hustle his week with a little R+R in my downtime. I can already tell this week is very hectic, so a little self-care break is definitely needed.
Also, I have some exciting things coming up, so I can't wait until I can share them with you all.
One of those things is my new internship position with Everystylishgirl.com. It's a space for stylish women of color to break barriers and empower future girl bosses. They have a digital presence on social and also a website for empowering articles. I am so lucky to be one of three writing interns this semester. I will share those articles as they become available on their site super soon.
I've also been trying to get more into a routine this semester since I'm juggling interning, class, my blog, working with A Magazine, and my RA position. I am really trying to be strategic about my time and work; so hopefully, I stay on top of everything.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I only have a 9:55 spinning class; so, the rest of my day is completely free for homework and writing. I'm still trying to come up with a perfect schedule, but here is a look at my chill weekday routine.
8:45-9:00 am: Waking up
I usually hit snooze a couple of times without feeling guilty because it's kind of pointless to shower before spinning. So, I usually give myself a little bit of time to lay in bed and relax.
9:10- 9:35 am: Getting Dressed
Once I'm up I usually just brush my teeth, put my hair up in a better-looking bun, and pick out my workout look for the day. Then I'll wash my face, put on moisturizer, and take my Vitamin D pill.
9:55- 10:45 am: Spinning
This is one of my favorite parts of the week! Just being able to hop on the bike for a while and forget about your homework and other things you have to do. This has become my favorite form of self-care and wellness. I feel myself getting stronger each class, and it's so exciting.
11-11:40 am: Grabbing some food
I usually get the exact same thing after I spin. I always crave a bagel and a hashbrown. It's so good after a long workout! I have to eat immediately after because sometimes after coming off the bike I feel a little bit weak.
12:00-12:30 pm: Showering
I usually just pop on some tunes or listen to a podcast as I hop into the shower.
1:00-3:00 pm: Napping or heading to a coffee shop
This really just depends on the day, and how I'm feeling. But sometimes after I spin, I get so exhausted. Although work is very important, it's also important to listen to your body. Sometimes, I feel energized and sometimes I just don't. I try not to feel guilty for napping or taking a small break from the #Grind. I know that a little bit of relaxation will actually help with my productivity later.
3:30-??? : Work on homework, blog posts, or internship tasks
This varies throughout the week. Some days I have more work than others, and sometimes I just work on a blog post all day. It really just depends week by week.
What's your daily routine like? Let me know in the comments!
