I Graduated College!

I'm so happy to say "I FINALLY DID IT!"

As of last weekend, I am now an Alumna of Kent State University and I've secured a bachelor of science in Journalism with a dual minor in fashion media and marketing.

It's been a long road, but it's honestly flown by. I still remember my first day arriving at Kent State, and the tears I shed when my family left. I was sad but so curious and eager to take college life by storm. And now I'm here writing this blog post about how it's all over.

I've grown so much and learned tons about media and myself. I realized I'm a multimedia journalist before I'm a blogger, and I can also use my journalism skills to add unique attributes to my blog. I've learned how to record audio professionally, plan social posts, shoot quality B-roll, and how to write with major credibility (so, why not use that to my advantage?)

I know the skills I have acquired will take me very far in my desired career in fashion media and with Festively Faith. It's only the beginning, and there is no telling how far I'll go.

So, What's Next?
Right now, I'm just enjoying the moment and relaxing at home. Graduating college is a huge accomplishment, and it's okay not to rush to the next thing. It took me a while to come to terms with taking a little time off, but I probably won't get this opportunity again soon. I want a clear headspace before I go to the next big thing. I know what kind of industry I want to work in, and I am going to work on myself, my blog and my resume until the perfect opportunity comes my way.

What I know for sure is.....

I know for sure that I want to put a lot of my energy into growing my blog because honestly, that is a full-time job.  It's a dream and a goal I've had for some time, and I see so much opportunity, so I'm going to go for it full force! I also want to take time to perfect my resume, grow my network, and continue to work on my writing skills.

What's great about journalism and media, is that you can always work even when you are not employed. Writing, social media, video, audio, etc... are all things you can do for yourself. I don't have to wait to be hired to work. I'm working every day perfecting my craft, work on my brand, and create better content.

And so that's what I will continue to do. I know in my heart that things will align in their perfect timing until then I'm working on me and Festivelyfaith.com and I couldn't be happier.
